Welcome
A small gesture. A moment of sincere personal attention. For all I care we could sit down and have a good glass of wine together. You can make up a bunch of stories around it but this is how simple it actually is. Hospitality is taking the time and effort for each other. My grandfather and father did not act any different in their time. Their heritage is still essential to everything I do. However, as the third generation you cannot allow yourself to be afraid of new things. In that aspect I think I have succeeded. Present and past are nicely balanced. Just like I wish to be in balance with the world around me: the world that is always moving. If you do not move along with it, life passes by. This is why I take every day as an opportunity to use all of my senses. I observe and feel everything that is going on within my company and my city, Maastricht. I listen to our guests and employees, I taste the wine and smell the fresh ingredients coming from our kitchen. And every time I ask myself: do we still sparkle and rouse like we used to?
