A 100 years of history, April 1st 2012
It’s April first 1912 when Willem Beaumont, grandfather of the current owner, takes over corner café Swelsen and expands it to a hotel and restaurant with 12 rooms. He gave the hotel the family name and the Beaumont Hotel and Restaurant was born. In that time the rate per person for a room including ‘warm and cold water’ and breakfast with bacon and eggs was 1 guilder 25 cents (equivalent to 60 Euro cents) (click here for the complete history).
Starting from the first of April 2011 we are counting down to 100 years of Beaumont on April 1st 2012 with several activities.
